Leisure Activities
Our Parish has a wealth of sporting activities and events on offer from the private, voluntary and public sectors. We try to encourage wide participation in our events and sports activities to promote health and well-being and make Aycliffe an interesting and enjoyable place in which to live.
We have an 18-hole golf course with pitch and putt and a flood-lit 18-bay driving range. There are modern changing and shower facilities and a well stocked shop. Lessons and repairs are provided by our resident pro, Mr. Alan Hartley.
Season tickets are exceptional value for regular players, or you can 'pay as you play' if you just want to play the odd round. We also have special offers available throughout the year and offer visiting parties a warm welcome. The 19th hole is the comfortable Oakleaf Sports Complex which apart from excellent bar and catering also has facilites for squash, football, badminton and indoor bowls as well as a function room which is available for hire for conferences, weddings, christenings and birthdays.
Our outside events programme is quite diverse, operating throughout the year and includes activies for everyone to be involved with from from children's sports coaching during every school holiday, to the Annual Show in August and the very popular Santa Tours on Christmas Eve.
